Le Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris Born in Belgium, Benjamin Katz has been living in Germany ever since the late 50s. He first opened a gallery in Berlin with Michael Werner in 1963 before devoting himself to photography. Very familiar with the artistics circles of his time, he shot portraits of the most outstanding artists of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, ranging from Joseph Beuys to Marcel Broodthaers, from Andy Warhol to Georg Baselitz and Sigmar Polke. The present exhibition includes eight photos of Eugène Leroy taken in his studio in the 1980s. |
